No, it's not my last name, it's a mountain that's been cut, burnt, quarried and generally abused in every way, but I looked at it every day growing up so I felt like going up it. I got horribly lost, but that's another story. These pictures are from another day. I don't think I was supposed to be here- not sure if this was private or DEP land. But I did know/think there was some sort of easement to the top, so I figured it was fine to go up, even without the DEP murder permit.
There was a strand of surveror's tape wrapped around a nearby red oak. Pat's Point was written on it. Unfortunately, this is before I got decent with a camera, so the mountains you would want to look at are not really in the center and the "grand range" isn't fully within one picture. But you can see: Wittenberg, Cornell, Friday, add Balsam Cap. You can see a sliver of Slide, and a Peekamoose peeking over. And some other humps in the distance. And some lesser piles of old Acadian mud.
