Notes About Hiking to Beech Mountain

 TRAIL
The Beech Mountain hike is a local hiker favorite. It is a fairly easy hike. During this hike you will get to see Hodge Pond, which is quite nice. You will also get to see a very nice view point to the south at the end of Beech Mountain Road by the Club House. There is another view spot, with views of Hodge Pond, on the Beech Mountain Loop Trail. You also have the option of mixing up the return trip to get views of Frick Pond.

There are numerous trail junctions on this, so take a picture of the map above to ensure that you take the correct paths.

During a portion of this hike you will leave New York State Public Land, and you will be hiking on Beaverkill Valley Nature Preserve. They have a different set of rules for hiking on their property. None of the trails are marked, with the exception of the Beech Mountain loop Trail, which has Red Trail Markers. There are NO signs at road and trail junctions. So, make sure you have a map of the region.

Beech Mountain is the highest Point in Sullivan County with an elevation of 3,126 feet.
